Our History
Welcome to Antioch Missionary Baptist Church! Our rich history is rooted in an unwavering commitment to faith, community, and service to God.
On October 12, 1888, the land for the original church was purchased for $12.00 through the faithful efforts of Deacons George Washington, Sam Kirby, Dave Foster, and John Lewis. Their vision and dedication laid the foundation for a ministry that would serve generations to come.
In 1904, a devastating storm destroyed the original church building. Despite this setback, the congregation remained steadfast in faith, holding worship services under a Brush Arbor while preparing to rebuild. Some of the lumber recovered from the storm was used to construct a one-room schoolhouse that served the local community. This schoolhouse provided educational opportunities for area students until the construction of Frierson Elementary School and also served as a Sunday School classroom for the church.
Through the perseverance and faithfulness of its members, Antioch Missionary Baptist Church was rebuilt in 1908 and continued to grow as a beacon of hope, worship, and Christian fellowship. The current church facility was completed in 2009, providing a place where believers can gather to worship, learn, and serve together.
For more than a century, Antioch Missionary Baptist Church has been dedicated to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ, impacting lives, strengthening families, and nurturing spiritual growth. As we honor our rich heritage, we remain committed to fulfilling God's purpose and sharing His love with future generations.

Our Mission is rooted in Matthew 28:16–20, commonly known as The Great Commission. We are called to go into the world, proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all people, and make disciples. Through the power of God's Word and the work of the Holy Spirit, we seek to transform lives, strengthen our community, and build Christ's Church for the advancement of the Kingdom of God.
